So, who am I? The only person I can feel I truly relate to is Anushka Sharma (Bollywood actress) because she seems to have very similar thinking, values and traits to me.
I have done some of these tests before, so it will be interesting to see what I get this time around.
So here are the results:
What is the meaning of my name?
I was discussing this two weeks ago with a Greek colleague. Sophia means wisdom and I’m sure you’ve heard of Hagia Sophia which means ‘holy wisdom.’ I don’t know if the name suits me, I’m perhaps about 50% wise.
What is my Myers-Briggs Personality Type? (Link)
Last time I did it, I got ISTP but this time around I got INTP. Personally, I think individuals are far too layered to be put in a box even though sometimes knowing your box can provide a lot of comfort as it allows you to understand how you fit into the complex system that is our world. I did some pretty extensive research into the science behind it and discovered Jung’s cognitive functions. So, then I did the cognitive functions test for reinforcement and I got INTP. Additionally, I looked up the ones closest and similar to my type like ENTP, ISTP, etc. I have to say, I like both the quotes of ENTP and INTP and relate to both.
ENTP: “Follow the path of the unsafe, independent thinker. Expose your ideas to the dangers of controversy. Speak your mind and fear less the label of ‘crack-pot’ than the stigma of conformity. And on issues that seem important to you, stand up and be counted at any cost.”
Thomas J. Watson
INTP: “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”
The ENTP quote spoke more to me about how I view life as I certainly do not know how to always ‘live for today.’ But then… I saw these under the INTP description:
“When Logicians are particularly excited, the conversation can border on incoherence as they try to explain the daisy-chain of logical conclusions that led to the formation of their latest idea.”
The amount of times I’ve been told I seem and look like an absolute maniac whenever I talk about something I’m passionate about by friends and family strongly resonates with me.
“The one thing that really holds Logicians back is their restless and pervasive fear of failure.”
And this too… I’m extremely concerned with my emotional safety and I hardly do things that I feel will jeopardize it. Although, I do feel that, more recently, I’m starting to overcome these fears and do the … whatever it is … anyway.
Either way, I know that I am deeply interested in progress and deviating from social norms and expectations that no longer serve or benefit us even if it means being ostracised by the more traditional of us. This in turn, will allow us to really help others and bring about the change we need to see in the world. Also, I refuse to follow something that is neither logical or beneficial to others.
What is my Zodiac Sign? (Zodiac Sign)
Gemini. I am:
“Expressive and quick-witted, Gemini represents two different personalities in one and you will never be sure which one you will face. They are sociable, communicative and ready for fun, with a tendency to suddenly get serious, thoughtful and restless. They are fascinated with the world itself, extremely curious, with a constant feeling that there is not enough time to experience everything they want to see.”
I would take astrology with a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, I’m still intrigued by how it works! The descriptions of each sign are fairly generalised and thus can apply to anyone. There are supposed to be decans and mine is the second decan of Gemini which, if I remember correctly, is a combination of Gemini and Libra. This means there is a harmonious aspect to my personality. If I’m being perfectly honest, the descriptions are 90% accurate except for the sociable part as I’m not always sociable but I do love to be around people and feel suffocated if I’m isolated for a few hours!
What’s my Hogwarts House? (Pottermore Sorting Hat)
Well, I got Gryffindor. I took the Pottermore test years ago and retook it (made a new email) to see if it had changed. I got Gryffindor both times. Although, I have been told that I give off Slytherin vibes and I wouldn’t have been surprised if I got Slytherin (or Ravenclaw). But I guess that’s just because I look mean, even when I smile I look terribly unhappy. But I do think I have a healthy amount of Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw in me.
I did a Patronus test ages ago and I got a bloodhound, it didn’t ring true for me since bloodhounds seem much nicer than I am, to be honest… Recently, I got a Manx cat and the description suits me better as they’re far more balanced. To get anything other than a cat would be a surprise to me. I mean, I even look like a cat.
What Are my Learning Styles? (Link)
Before I begin, let me just say this was exhausting. My results:
- Visual 5
- Aural 10
- Read/Write 8
- Kinestehtic 13
I have a multimodal learning preference. Sounds about right, I don’t have the best attention span and other times I’m hyper-focused. I do like trial and error methods for physical skills and for tasks that require data organisation you gotta have step-by-step instructions. Brainstorming and debating is also great because it allows me to see things more clearly.
Am I Right or Left-Brain Dominant? (Link)
So, apparently I use my brain equally. I kinda, sorta feel a little dull for having such a balanced result. It did tip over to the right side. Actually, wait there’s nothing wrong with being such a mod.
What is my Blood Type?
What Career am I Meant to Have? (Link)
Well… I hope so. Anywhere I can come up with ideas and make a creative contribution. Also, I need coffee. Lots. And a harmonious environment.
What Divergent Faction do I Belong In? (Link)
Firstly… the best Divergent quiz. Really? Are you sure? Is “best” subjective or objective here?
Surprise, surprise (!). I got Divergent again. Makes sense, Tris is one of the few fictional female characters than I can relate to.
“You deviate from the norm. The aptitude test is inconclusive. It cannot determine just one faction for you, Divergent. Your mind is ceaselessly changing. You’re creative, with a strong sense of self, and you have a clear picture of who you are and what you want. You stand out from the crowd. You may pose a threat to the norms of society, but you are unwilling to give into them.”
I’m quite surprised when I see people getting something other than Divergent. I mean, we are people and we contain multitudes within ourselves!!! ARRGHHHHHH!!! Anyway. For real, I really need coffee.
What Does my Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)
“Stereotype: Natural leader, ambitious, responsible.
Why it’s true: The eldest, for a while, has no competition for time (or books or baby banter) with Mom and Dad. “There’s a benefit to all of that undiluted attention. A 2007 study in Norway showed that firstborns had two to three more IQ points than the next child,” says Frank J. Sulloway, Ph.D., the author of Born to Rebel. Firstborns tend to be surrogate parents when other siblings arrive, hence their protective and responsible nature.”
The only thing in the “Why It’s True” section that rings true is the surrogate parent aspect. Oh, and I don’t just mean that we are the third parent for our siblings, we become the third parent for our cousins as well. Frequently, I just find myself settling into the surrogate parent role with friends too! It’s frustrating but when you are the third parents of your siblings, it just comes naturally to look after everybody else there is and become their parent too. Unless, it becomes a nuisance then I will literally scream: “Am I your mother? Go look after your own self.”
Okay, all these tests just make me feel like I’m mad as a hatter and a bit light-headed. I’m certainly no closer to understanding myself. I’m perfectly sane as to how insane I am. But, also, as to how normal I am.
Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. We’re all mad here REGARDLESS.
I tag anyone interested in personality types and I’d especially love to see those who get something similar to me.
